The Society for Talsevran Exploration maintains this archive as a restricted public service, for the use of scholars interested in this vital and exciting land, but especially for the preparation of further explorers. Talsever is currently inaccessible via the normal travel agencies devoted to alternate universe recreation; it is under restriction due to dangers to travellers and to its native peoples. All explorers wishing to visit must pass the stringent examination of the Society, a process of preparation that normally requires a course of study lasting two years (minimum).
Some materials of the archive are freely available to the general public. An adequate, if shallow introduction may be found in the light-hearted brochure Talsever in Ten Minutes (warning: despite its title, the contents of the brochure are likely to take somewhat more time to digest)
The archive is organized along subject lines, with numerous cross-references. Many of the documents are original source materials translated into english by previous travellers. The Society does not vouch for the accuracy of content or of translation of any of the documents in this archive, although the archivists strive to document the provenance of each piece.
